According to an updated DESE Policy on Vaccination Threshold document released today, January 10, the school mask requirement is extended until February 28. It was set to expire on January 15. The policy originally aimed to require masks through October 1, then was extended to November 1 prior to being extended a third time to January 15.

According to the DESE policy, “if a school demonstrates a vaccination rate of 80 percent or more of all students and staff in the school through an attestation form submitted to DESE, then the mask requirement would no longer be in effect for that school building.” This would go into effect after the mask requirement date expired.
