Nineth grader Hannah Sickberg has excelled in drawing. Not only are her drawing skills beyond strong, her drawings are her relaxation. She recently won an award at the Hudson High School Art Show. Also many of the art teachers have felt her art deserves more than just a second glance.
Q:When did you first start drawing?
A: I first started drawing when I was a little kid. Both of my parents are musically inclined, and we’re very involved in the arts.
Q: What is your favorite thing to draw?
A: I like to draw people. Sometimes I draw animals, but they’re really hard. I enjoy drawing flowers, and I like drawing words on the pictures.
Q: Do you think your art has ever helped anyone?
A:I really don’t know. Everyone has a different opinion on art. So maybe. I’ve drawn things for people before, like pictures of animals, ocean, etc.
Q: Have you ever won any awards?
A: I won a golden paintbrush award at the art show.
Q: What do you think influenced you to start drawing?
A: I don’t know. I just like to, kinda use it as an escape.
Q: What is your favorite drawing?
A: I don’t have one. Most of them are doodles, and I lose them.
Q: Would you like to keep better track of them?
A: Yeah, I’ve been trying to keep a sketch pad now.
Q: What would you say is the easiest thing for you to draw?
A: Blocks, 3-D things.
Q: What has been the biggest inspiration?
A: The sky, and people in general. Unique people, the way faces are.
Q: Would you like to pursue a job in art?
A: I would. I definitely wanna get a job in art, but there aren’t very many.
