The Big Red Staff voted on the Instagram photos submitted for the #hhsprompics2025 annual prom photo contest. This year, we had the most submissions to the contest to date; 188 pictures total!. The wins in each category are featured in the below gallery and the top winner was junior Alessandra Burnett.

Clarissa Lopes, Staff Writer
Clarissa Lopes, a freshman, is in her first year of journalism at The Big Red. She took journalism intending to get better time management skills and improve her writing overall. Her favorite subjects are history and English because she hopes to be a lawyer someday. Lopes’ favorite drink is mango juice. She loves Bruno Mars, her favorite movie is A Walk to Remember, and when she has time, she likes watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. Lopes’s favorite meal is any type of Brazilian BBQ.
Blake Freitas, Editor
Junior Blake Freitas is in his second year of journalism and now an editor after first taking the class his freshman year.
He is interested in expanding his work in photography and communication, building on his experience and strengths in interviewing and writing.
Freitas enjoys the relaxed, laid-back environment of the class and values the freedom to choose his own topics, something that also influences his day-to-day life.
Outside of school, he enjoys fishing, especially during the summer at nearby lakes and ponds, and primarily listens to R&B music.
Freitas is considering attending college but is still weighing his options. He credits his parents as a major source of inspiration and influence in his personal growth.
