Hudson High’s CAP Night Through a Lens

Freshman Melanie is a first-year journalism student at Hudson High School. Although she doesn’t have previous journalism experience, she has been interested in the field her whole life and hopes to one day become a journalist. Her dream is to be on the sidelines covering a sports game, and she’s eager to learn the fundamentals of reporting this year.

Outside of journalism, Person is passionate about sports and plans to attend college after high school. A fun fact about her is that she has three older brothers—one of whom was a 1,000-point basketball scorer at Hudson High. Her favorite music genre is pop.

Freshman Daphney Da Costa is beginning her first year in journalism at Hudson High School. Her interest in the field began when she was younger, after watching a show where she admired how involved the reporter was in her subject. She enjoys writing and hopes to cover topics in both English and Portuguese.

This year, Daphney’s goals are to earn good grades and prepare for her dream of going to college. If she could interview anyone, she would choose legendary soccer player Pelé. Outside of journalism, she enjoys playing sports in her free time.

Daphney’s favorite music genres are funk and sertanejo.
