A little more than a month into the season, the Girl’s Varsity Tennis team is at 8-3 as of May 3.
“We are doing good right now and as the season progresses, we are getting better every day and learning to work with each other more efficiently,” states senior Taylor Coyne.
GVT has a returning coach, Kellianne Erath, and the girls have shown much gratitude for her assistance and support throughout the games and practices.
“[She] has been amazing and helped us improve as a team, on and off the court,” says Junior captain Janie Brunelle.
This year is Brunelle’s second year as a captain with Junior Sophie Charbonneau.
“The captains in my 8th and Freshman year really impacted me and I looked up to them so much, now as a captain I hope I can be that for someone else,” says Brunelle.
The team contains three seniors, Taylor Coyne, Lauren Shurling, and Gracie Garzia.
“It’s definitely bittersweet to be in the last year of my high school career. It has been really fun to participate in the tennis program at Hudson High and get the chance to play with all of the girls on the team,” says Coyne.
