Is the Earth going to be defeated?

Richard Mattocks, Special to The Big Red

Our country is in a deep environmental crisis. There is no way around it, our environment is collapsing and soon the world is going to turn into chaos. As humans it is our job to protect our environment but are we giving the best effort that we can?

The answer to that question is no, as humans we procrastinate and we are procrastinating and waiting for other generations to solve this overarching problem of our environment getting worse.

Some of the big environmental problems are global warming, water is getting scarce and human overpopulation. It is truly scary.

These problems are overwhelming to think about all at once. But over the course of history these problems have been speeding up and at some point these problems are going to affect our daily lives.

The country of the United States is a well developed country and we need to lead the world in environmental studies. As a citizen you need to do your job and help protect our earth.

Trump has sent us backwards in a fundamental way. Trump has sped up the climate change problems and we have gone backwards in trying to stop climate change.

First and foremost Trump does not believe that humans cause global warming so in that belief he does not think humans should do anything to avoid this threat in the future. Hudson needs to adopt the mindset that global warming is real and climate change could hurt our beautiful town in fundamental way. Hudson citizens need to save our Earth!

Hudson High School does a good job to persevere the earth and its resources. Every teacher in this building is very aware of the conflicts that humans have with the environment and everyday we see any people in Hudson trying to reduce Hudson’s carbon footprint.

As a town we need to make Hudson as green as it can be. Hudson is so precious in our hearts and it is the place we grew up in. We, as citizens of Hudson, Massachusetts, need to preserve this glorious town and face the problems that Hudson has to deal with in the impending future.

Everyday every Hudson citizen should recycle and reduce waste and try in a fundamental way improve Hudson’s sustainability in the environment. Hudson is a beautiful town and we need to strive and make Hudson greener and more environmentally friendly. Please join me and reduce reuse and recycle in Hudson.

I am in AP Environmental Science with Ms. Cothran. Her perspective on this idea of a failing environment is she tries to do all she can with her life to make the environment more green and reduce her carbon footprint.

That is the mindset I have in this process too. But with 3.4 billion humans everyone needs to start contributing to lowering waste and lowering your carbon footprint. This means every 3 billion people on this earth, if we do not preserve our earth generations from now our families will not have a home on Earth.

This climate change issue is scary to think about but just one more person being conscious about this issue could lead to more time that generations have on this beautiful planet. Be conscious about this issue because it is not going away it will stay with you for your lifetime you can try to avoid it but someday it will gobble this earth up. Hudson, we need to to set the standard and be the most environmentally friendly town in the United States.
