Nine years of dedication to softball has paid off for junior pitcher Jurnee Ware.
Q: What did you do during the off season to prepare for the season?
A: I have no off season; softball is all year round for me. I do tons of work to prepare for the season like clinics, pitching lessons, summer league practices and just working out on my own whenever I can.
Q: What do you do to prepare for a game?
A: I always eat a candy fireball before every game. Sometimes I wear a Superwoman shirt just for good luck.
Q: What has been a few accomplishments for you this year?
A: I made it to 500 strikeouts this year. I also had my first perfect game which is when there is no hits and no errors on the field the entire game, when I pitched. The perfect game was against Gardner, and it felt amazing to to accomplish something as great as a perfect game.
Q: What struggles have you faced this season?
A: I’ve had a lot of constant shoulder injuries like tendinitis and knots, which are very painful.
Q: What is your favorite part of softball?
A: I love striking people out in clutch situations like when the bases are loaded, but my favorite thing about softball is winning!
