Saturday (6/1) was an afternoon of celebration at Hudson High as friends and family bid goodbye to the class of 2024. In their red caps and gowns, the hawks gathered in the Morgan Bowl for the very last time to gather their diplomas.
This years ceremony honored class Valedictorian Thuy-Tien Ngyuen, who spent her time at Hudson High captaining the Girls Varsity Track and Field team, even helping breaking the school record for the outdoor 4×8 just days before walking the stage. Ngyuen heads to Georgetown University’s Pre-Med program this fall.
Avani Kashalikar, one of the Big Red’s own Co-Editors-in-Chief, was honored Salutatorian. When not writing articles for the Big Red, Kashalikar spent her highschool years playing on the Varsity Field Hockey team and even managing the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team this past spring. University of Virginia awaits Kashalikar for her first semester where she plans to major in Chemistry.
Other than the top two of the class, Superintendant Dr. Reagan, Principal Dr. Medeiros, and members of the senior student government also gave speeches that afternoon; Class President Bruna Oliveira, Vice-President Jackson O’Brien, and Secretary Victor Mussen.
With their eigth grade cut off by the Covid-19 Pandemic, highschool has been more of a challenge for the class of 2024. But the hawks have officially left the nest.
