April showers bring…snow showers? Hudson Public Schools had 2 hour delay on April 4 and students were all for it. Some believed the storm deserved an entire day off but others are glad this was not the case.
“I wish we had a snow day because I get out at the same time,” said senior Lauren Shurling who referred to the fact that seniors finish the school year on May 23, regardless of snow days.
Another student who hoped to have a day off as well was freshman Quinn Gaffney who looks at snow days as an incentive to not get to school in the snow, “I think we should have had the day off… I don’t like snow,” he said.
As of right now, the last day of school for students is scheduled to be on Friday, June 14, if another snow day is called, that would make the last day the following Monday, June 17. This was taken into consideration for some students when deciding whether or not they wanted the snow day today or not.
Freshman Luigi Lange agreed with the call for a delay, “I don’t wish we had a snow day because we would have to come back on a Monday for our last day.”
Hudson High’s secretary Michelle Shekelton was delighted for the two-hour delay.
“I was very excited, shut my alarm off, and went back to sleep. I live right around the corner so it didn’t affect me getting to work much. A two-hour delay was perfect I want to get out of here in June.” said Shekleton.
