Since the beginning of ninth grade Danielle Bobe has been a key player for the Hudson Hawks volleyball team. This season was especially important to Bobe because of her role as a senior varsity captain and because of her amazing number of back row digs and kills. This season the girls had a 14-6 record and qualified early for districts. The team worked really well together with the support from Bobe and other seniors. By the end of the season Bobe described her team as “a family.”
The bond between team members was strong. The team was always together on the weekends watching movies and hanging out, and they “went out to eat together after almost every win,” Bobe said. Through “hard losses and great victories” the team made great friendships.
The team was always ready to win after their warm-up run around the school at home games and their one and only “eat em up” cheer at away games. At the Nashoba away game, the girls started off with two sets lost, but with tremendous teamwork, they came back to win the next three in a row. Having a great start to the season, the team qualified for districts, and “it felt so good,” Bobe said.
The team had a tough game against Marlborough, losing three sets to none, but no pride was lost. They all agreed that “they gave it their all, and played really well this season,” Bobe said. As captain, she was proud. Her team had taught her “responsibility and leadership along with patience and hard work.”
Danielle Bobe will being saying goodbye to Hudson High and the girls that made her senior year season so special, but not to the sport. Winning MVP of the league, Bobe set herself up for success in the future. She hopes to play at Liberty University. Even if college volleyball isn’t something in her future, you can’t keep her away from beach volleyball!
