Clarissa Lopes, a freshman, is in her first year of journalism at The Big Red. She took journalism intending to get better time management skills and improve her writing overall. Her favorite subjects are history and English because she hopes to be a lawyer someday. Lopes’ favorite drink is mango juice. She loves Bruno Mars, her favorite movie is A Walk to Remember, and when she has time, she likes watching Avatar: The Last Airbender. Lopes’s favorite meal is any type of Brazilian BBQ.

Freshman Blake Freitas is taking journalism for the first time this year. He signed up for the class because he wants to know what’s going on in the world around him, and is hoping the course will help him improve his general writing skills. In his free time, Freitas can be found playing for the school baseball, basketball, and football teams.
