The Class of 2025 is almost headed to the real world following graduation. But they will have to wait one more day. With rain predicted for Saturday morning, graduation will be moved to the rain date, Sunday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Medeiros announced in an email to staff, students and families the following:

As a result of Saturday’s forecasted weather, the Hudson High School graduation ceremony will be moved to Sunday, June 1 @ 11 AM. The graduates should report to the gym at 10 AM.

Should the forecast alter any further, we may shift the start time later on Sunday, but we feel confident that this change to Sunday offers the best chance for dry skies. Families should consider bringing a towel or two to dry their seats. All other graduation details can be found here

Our team is working hard to prepare the best possible event to celebrate the accomplishments of the class of 2025.

Because the rain delay was noted on the senior events calendar, students and attendees knew the delay was a possibility. Some were happy to have an extra day.

“Now I have more time to decorate my cap before graduation,” said senior Luiz Silva

Senior Livia Dos Santos Vilela disse: “Eu acho que é muito bom porque eu não quero que chova, mas eu acho que é ruim ser no Domingo porque a gente tem que mudar nossa agenda e também todo mundo que chamamos para celebrar.” (I think it is really good because I don’t want it to rain, but I think it’s bad to be on Sunday because I will have to change my whole schedule and also everyone else who we called to celebrate)

“I’m actually glad they movied it because a couple of years ago they did not postpone it and it was down pouring in the freezing cold,” said senior Ella Spuria.

Not everyone agreed and some expressed frustration about the change.

“To be honest, it’s annoying and I don’t like it. We got rained on two years ago, and people brought umbrellas. The rain won’t even be that bad [on Saturday morning], said senior Tyrese Meuse.
