With yet another division title in reach the Hudson Hawks looked to defeat the Wachusett Regional Mountaineers. The seats of the DCU Center were packed full of Red and Green anticipation.
It took no longer than 2 minutes and some change for Blake Seymour to put his offensive rebound in the net for the 1-0 tally.
Tyler Kirby would soon find Blake Seymour early in the second period to make it a two goal game. Later in the second period Zack Graham would get the puck and set himself up on a breakaway. The crowd erupted as Graham finished the drive by putting the puck past goalie Christian Helger.
The title was in sight as the third period began.
Hudson was a man down when Colin Bennie stuffed a rebound past Brian Tomczyk to put Wachusett on the scoreboard. However, the Wachusett momentum was short lived, as Hudson’s Jeff Hamelin was able to the score off a rebound.
The Red Sea sent out a shockwave of excitement as the buzzer sounded the end of the game. An emotional Coach Nanartowich stepped on to the ice to congratulate his players with his fists high in the air. The team huddled around goalie Brian Tomczyk to show appreciation for his amazing 30-save performance.
