After winning only two games last season, the lacrosse team is determined to be stronger than ever. Coach Doug Gold and Coach Matt Aloi know that the team, especially the seniors, will have a strong season. Last season senior Sterling Chaves was the top scorer on the team; he hopes to bring the team many wins this year.
Senior Brian Tomczyk was one of the best defensemen last season; he returns this season and has a strong chance of being captain. “Brian is a focused player and works very hard when it comes to sports,” Gold said.
The captains have not yet been finalized, but Coach Aloi feels that “our captains will put the team first by improving themselves and pushing others to be better not only on the field but in the classroom as well.”
The coaches think that all the hard work the players have put in during the preseason will pay off. Players have been lifting three days a week, and some of them have been playing an indoor game of lacrosse every Sunday. During lifting the coaches expect the guys to not only push themselves but also everyone else.
Because Hudson does not have a lacrosse youth program the biggest obstacle the team faced last season was the jump from junior varsity (JV) to varsity. There weren’t many players that were experienced in the game, but hopefully that changes in the years to come because Hudson is starting a youth program.
The biggest rival for the Hudson High School lacrosse team is Marlborough. Marlborough was the only team that played in the Morgan Bowl, and they were the toughest.
The team has its first game of the season on March 31 against Milford on the front field; both Coach Gold and Coach Aloi hope to improve the team some more and get their first win of the season.

As the years go on the team will get better and win more games because the lacrosse program is still just starting.
